Embankment Stabilisation

At Manning Ground Engineering, we specialise in designing and constructing retaining walls that provide lateral support to soil or other materials and prevent them from collapsing.

Retaining walls are commonly used in a wide range of applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. They are particularly useful in areas with steep slopes or confined sites, where the natural soil structure is not sufficient to support the weight of the structure. A well-designed and constructed retaining wall can enhance the aesthetics and functionality of your property while providing a durable and long-lasting solution.

We offer a range of retaining wall solutions to meet the needs of our clients, including

  • Gravity Retaining Walls: These walls rely on their own weight and the weight of the soil behind them to resist lateral pressure.
  • Reinforced Retaining Walls: These walls incorporate reinforcement materials such as steel or geogrid to enhance their strength and stability.
  • Cantilever Retaining Walls: These walls are designed to resist lateral pressure by using a structural Reinforced concrete base slab and a cantilevered stem.
  • Soil nailed & sprayed concrete: These walls use “nails” or “anchors” installed into the embankment to tie back the slope while using sprayed on concrete where formwork is impractical or not economically viable.
